On August 20, 2001, we were informed of an outbreak of Viral Hemorrhagic Disease (VHD) in a commercial rabbitry in Utah.  This deadly disease is also known as Rabbit Calicivirus Disease (RCD), Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHD), and rabbit Calicivirus

(RCV).  This disease has the potential to wipe out all domestic rabbit industries on the North American continent.

We encourage our web site visitors to follow the links listed below for more information on the disease, what is being done to contain it, and how to prevent its spread.  By working together, we can, once again, be declared as a "VHD-free country."

Our sympathy goes out to the rabbitries involved, as well as our appreciation for their quick response in taking the appropriate action.
